Day by Day

  • Depart from Nashville (BNA) on an overnight flight to Iceland (KEF) via Toronto (YZZ).
  • Arrive in Iceland and be greeted by your Tour Manager. We will take an introductory walk of Reykjavik and visit the National Museum, followed by a welcome dinner in the evening.
  • Today we will experience the Golden Circle with a first stop at Thingvellir National Park where Europe and North America meet in a stunning landscape. Continue onwards to the Geyser hot spring area, we will take a walk and admire the geyser Strokkur as it bursts into the air every 5-7 minutes. The “Golden waterfall” is up next. It flows down from the Langjökull glacier in cascades. We will end this day in a coastal town called Vik where dinner awaits.
  • Today we take a two-hour glacier hike in the Skaftafell Nature Reserve. There's no need to be in particular good shape for this activity, but we need to be well dressed. You'll have crampons and axes for support. Onwards to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon with its floating icebergs, followed by a visit to the “ice beach”. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at our hotel in Vik.
  • We start the day with a visit to the black sand beach to admire the beautiful basalt columns on the sand and rising from the sea. Continuing westbound, our next stop is at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which you will be able to see from both angles as you can walk behind the fall. We continue west and along the way, we will have a view over the Hekla volcano. Our second waterfall stop will be at the majestic Skógafoss with its streaming glacier water. We will stay in a countryside lodge overnight to increase our chances of spotting the Aurora Borealis.
  • We will visit another hot spring area in the morning and later tour the Reykjanesbaer peninsula. A refreshing stop at the Blue Lagoon Spa for a hot water clay treatment is next on the list, before it is time to transfer to the airport for return flights in the evening. Arrive in Toronto and spend the night with dinner at the airport hotel.
  • Board your flight in the morning for return to Nashville, USA
