Day by Day

  • Depart from Boston on an overnight flight to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF).
  • Arrive in Iceland and be greeted by your Tour Manager. We will take an introductory walk of Reykjavik and visit the National Museum, followed by a welcome dinner in the evening.
  • Today we will experience the Golden Circle with a first stop at Thingvellir National Park where Europe and North America meet in a stunning landscape. Continue on to the Geyser hot spring area, we will take a walk and admire the geyser Strokkur as it bursts into the air every 5-7 minutes. The “Golden waterfall” is up next. It flows down from the Langjökull glacier in cascades. We will end this day in a countryside lodge.
  • We start the day with trip to the black sand beach to admire the beautiful basalt columns on the sand and rising from the sea. On our way we will be making a stop at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which you will be able to see from both angles as you can walk behind the fall. We continue west and along the way, we will have a view over the Hekla volcano. Our second waterfall stop will be at the majestic Skógafoss with its streaming glacier water. Today you will also have the chance to do a Glacier walk, for those who like. We will stay in our countryside lodge for a second night to increase our chances of spotting the Aurora Borealis.
  • We will visit another hot spring area in the morning and later tour the Reykjanesbaer peninsula. A refreshing stop at the Blue Lagoon Spa for a hot water clay treatment is next on the list, before it is time to transfer to the airport for return flights in the evening.
