  • GO: Peru
The Road to the Lost City Our adventure began in Cusco, once the beating heart of the Incan Empire. Cobblestone streets, vibrant markets, and colorful colonial architecture painted the perfect introduction to this enchanting city. From the bustling Plaza de Armas to the quiet charm of the San Blas neighborhood, every corner told a story. And, of course, we couldn’t help but fall in love with the adorable alpacas and llamas that seemed to greet us everywhere we went — their curious faces and soft coats adding a touch of whimsy to the Andean scenery.

The Sacred Valley and the Panoramic Train Experience From Cusco, we ventured into the Sacred Valley, where ancient terraces cascade down lush mountain slopes and traditional villages dot the landscape. This region truly lives up to its name — a place of serenity and awe, surrounded by towering peaks and centuries of heritage. The highlight? Boarding the panoramic train to Machu Picchu. Large glass windows and skylights offered sweeping views as we glided along the Urubamba River, watching the Andes unfold in all their glory. It felt as if time itself slowed down — a peaceful, cinematic ride through nature’s masterpiece.

One of the highlights of our Sacred Valley journey was the visit to Pisac, a charming town famous for its vibrant artisan market and remarkable archaeological site perched high above the valley. We wandered through stalls bursting with colorful textiles, silver jewelry, and handmade crafts — a feast for the senses and a chance to connect with local artisans. Up on the mountain, the Pisac ruins revealed an intricate network of terraces and temples, offering sweeping views of the valley below. Standing there, it was easy to imagine the lives of the ancient Inca who once farmed, worshiped, and thrived in this breathtaking setting.…

Located high in the Peruvian Andes, was built by the Inca Empire in the 15th century and remained hidden from the outside world until its rediscovery by Hiram Bingham in 1911.
