From the famous wines of Bordeaux through to the picturesque countryside of the Mediterranean, there’s something for every taste on this tour journey through the French countryside; from Bordeaux to Barcelona Tour.

Join your Tour Manager as you start your exploration devouring oysters in the Bay of Arcachon and appreciating the best in Bordeaux wine exploring the south-west of France. Then head east towards Sarlat, as you enjoy a two-night stay in this medieval town known for its local delicacies including foie gras and cheese. Continue your journey through the French countryside as you travel onto the UNESCO World Heritage city of Albi making a stop along the way at St Cirq La Popie, the tiny French commune perched high up on a rock above the Lot river. Then it’s to the cultural hub of Barcelona, where you’ll take in all the razzle and dazzle of this thriving metropolis.

Day by Day

  • Board your overnight flight to Bordeaux, France.
  • Arrival in Bordeaux. Transfer to your centrally located hotel for a two night stay. Join your Tour Manager for an orientation walk in the afternoon before finishing at the Maison du Vin for a wine tasting. Sit down for a delicious Welcome Dinner in evening… bienvenue en France!
  • Begin the day with a guided sightseeing tour of Bordeaux before heading to the Bay of Arcachon for lunch and a visit of the oyster centre. Later you’ll head to the Dune de Pilat, Europe’s largest sand dune, for amazing views along the Atlantic coast. Enjoy a free evening to try the local Bordeaux specialties.
  • Depart Bordeaux following the Dordogne river up stream to the famous St Emillion Village and wine region. Stop along the way for a short visit and free time for lunch before heading on to a wine tasting in one of the local caves. From here continue the picturesque drive along the Dordogne to Sarlat, your base for the next two nights. This evening enjoy a typical local meal in the historic old town.
  • Visit one of several prehistoric caves in the region before heading to the village of La Roque Gageac where you’ll board a traditional ‘Gabarre’ river boat for a cruise down the Dordogne. Return to Sarlat late afternoon for dinner.
  • Head south crossing the rivers of the lot, Aveyron and Tarn. Stop for lunch in St Cirq La Popie, perched on a rock above the Lot river, then it’s on to the village of Cordes-sur-Ciel, before finally arriving in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Albi for a two night stay.
  • Join your Tour Manager for a morning guided visit of the cathedral and old city. The afternoon is free to visit the Toulouse Lautrec Museum or relax back in the hotel. In the evening enjoy dinner overlooking the cathedral all together.
  • Depart Albi and continue southwards towards Barcelona, stopping at midday in Carcassonne, one of Europe’s best preserved medieval fortresses. Then follow the Mediterranean, crossing the border into Spain and stopping in Figueres. The town was home to the artist Salvador Dali, where you’ll enjoy included entrance to the Dalí Theatre and Museum. Arrive late evening in Barcelona for your hotel check-in and dinner.
  • Start the day with a guided sightseeing tour of Barcelona’s highlights, including Gaudi’s famous La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Olympic park as well as Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. The afternoon is free for your own discovery of the city or you could join your Tour Manager for a cycle ride along the coast. Then in the evening there are options to enjoy a Flamenco night or head for a soccer match at the Camp Nou.
  • The last day is free for you to spend your time as you like in Barcelona. Fancy some shopping? Maybe you’d like to head to the beach, the choice is yours. In the evening sit down all together for a Farewell Dinner… what has been you tour highlight?
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

2. A Twin room is for one traveller sharing one room with one other person. This room consists of two single beds in total. When enrolling online you can specify who you would like to share this room with. Travellers who do not specify will be matched up into this room formation based on gender and age.
3. A Double room is for one traveller sharing one room with one other person. This room consists of one double bed and so is suited to couples.
4. Rates are based on no/little fluctuation in exchange rate between USD and Euros. Should the USD weaken significantly towards the Euro a correction in tour price would be done accordingly.
